An elder I care about…
...really needs to get out and do something
…cannot drive or use public transportation and taxicabs are too expensive
…can do light housecleaning but needs assistance with heavy tasks
...needs help with housekeeping and/or laundry
…needs assistance with personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
...doesn't eat right
…needs special services due to chronic illness or physical limitations
…cannot be left alone during the day
...is grieving over the death of a loved one.
...is depressed, suspicious, angry all the time, just sits
…may be drinking excessively or misusing medications.
...is behaving strangely. Could she/he have Alzheimer's disease?
...really needs 24-hour care or supervision
...is unable to remain in his/her present housing
…needs information on emergency preparedness.
...has health care costs which are exorbitant
…needs general financial assistance
…has some legal and financial issues that need attention, like making a will, estate planning, etc.
…has a terminal illness and needs help with end of life planning and care
As a caregiver…
...I feel overwhelmed; I have so many unanswered questions about
...I honestly need to share my feelings with someone who would understand
...it seems that other family members are not helping enough.
…my caregiving responsibilities are negatively affecting my work, personal life and health.
