The Dukes County Sheriffs’ Office is accepting applications for full time benefited positions for Public Safety telecommunications officers. A Telecommunications officer is a first-line public safety communications professional who essentially serves as a first responder to every class of emergency for which public safety services are provided. The primary responsibility is to receive, process, transmit and/or dispatch emergency and non-emergency calls for police, fire, emergency medical, and other public safety services via telephone and other communication devices. Applicants must have good keyboard skills. Work includes assignments to day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
