The Farm Neck Foundation has awarded a $2,000 grant to Jo Ann Murphy, our County Veterans Agent, to support her Veterans-in-Need program and her Active Duty Care Package project. The Veterans-in-Need program supports our local veterans who have needs that are not being met by Federal or state programs. The Active Duty Care Package project was initiated by Jo Ann to send packages to our active duty service men and women in the Middle East.
The County of Dukes County has had the sole responsibility to provide services to our veterans since 1982, when special legislation was enacted, absolving the towns of the responsibility.
The County is extremely grateful to the Farm Neck Foundation for its very generous donation.
