Sarah Kuh, Director of the Vineyard Health Care Access Program has been chosen to receive the Women Empowered award as Woman of the Year.
Vivian Stein, the President of the Women Empowered wrote:
Vineyard Health Care Access Program connects residents of the Island of all ages with health benefits. Your leadership has been recognized by State and Federal officials for outstanding effort to enroll Island children and teens in healthcare programs. The newly established David Kurth Memorial Fund helps defray cost to low income Islanders who need to travel for medical appointments. For this and many other services and accomplishments we are pleased to honor you as our Woman of the Year.
The Mission of Women Empowered is to support Islanders in gaining control over their lives by helping them develop skills to manage money, resolve debt, explore job options and identify resources. We do this through confidential one-on-one coaching, public workshops, tuition assistance and microloans. Clients in need are served regardless of race, religion, sex or ethnicity.
